PECO new shareholder Lensli
As of February 1, Lensli became part of PECO Holding BV. Due to the takeover of the share portfolio by PECO, Lensli is no longer part of the Horticoop company portfolio, but we are part of a holding company that also includes other substrate companies, namely MeeGaa from Den Hoorn and Free Peat from Vriezenveen.
The reason for the transaction is developments in the substrate market. Transport and personnel costs are increasing, while the sales market is not growing proportionately. The same applies to raw material costs. The substrate sector faces the major challenge of finding new sustainable raw materials. However, the availability of this is still insufficient and prices are often high, partly due to increasing demand from other industries.
No own raw material production
It is difficult for a relatively small company without its own raw material production locations to survive in the changing market in the longer term. To guarantee Lensli's continuity and security of supply, it is necessary to move with market changes. Thanks to the addition of Lensli to PECO, Lensli's future sustainability is guaranteed, because we achieve the necessary scale and achieve a strong position in the market together with the other substrate companies.
The change of shareholder has no influence on the quality and personal service that we have been providing to our customers for years. The Lensli brand will be retained and our customers can continue to count on the same expertise and security of supply of high-quality substrates, now and in the future.
PECO Holding
The new owners, Frank Meeuwisse and Toine Schipper, indicate that they are proud to expand PECO Holding with a party like Lensli. “This enables us to serve the market even better and to take a strong position. All our substrate companies have years of experience, knowledge and expertise. With this expansion, we can do what we are good at even better than before, which is developing high-quality substrate that benefits our customers and the market. Now and in the future.”
