We developed our own high-quality substrate in cooperation with Lensli Substrates. My customers are so pleased with it, some of them have started using it themselves.”
The Haarman tree nursery in Teuge supplies cuttings and plant material from mainly acid-loving shrubs. They have been using Lensli Substrates' own substrate recipe for years.
Raymond Haarman explains: “Acid-loving plants are often very susceptible to fungi in the soil. You have to devote a lot of attention to the young plants, and that’s something we are very good at. To promote strong plants and enhance resilience, we use various biostimulants and organic products. However, the foundation is laid by the substrate mixture. This can make or break a young plant.
"To create a good substrate, you need high quality, pure raw materials mixed in the right proportions. As we use smaller volumes of substrate, that is precision work. The recipe used for our current mixture dates from a few years back and we are still very satisfied with it".
